Rodeoing is a family tradition out at the Lazy HK Bar Ranch. Their professional stock bulls are part of a carefully honed bloodline manipulated by the veteran hands of Harlan Knowles. Harlan rode bulls for awhile himself before founding his bull breeding operation nearly 50 years ago. “I’ve been doing this my whole life, and I’m 80 now and still doing it,” declared Harlan while deftly pulling strings behind the scenes at the once-a-month winter bull riding series he and his wife Chris host at their ranch in Silver Creek. - By Jordan Nailon / jnailon@chronline.com

K125 The Grinch

Purchased as a breed bull. Took him to a few shows and he quickly became everyone’s favorite showman. 3/4 brother to 1997 PRCA bull of the year K66 Rapid Fire.

44 Pearl

Pearl was born on Pearl Harbor day at the ranch. He is sired by K125 The Grinch and out of a blueberry wine / yellow jacket cow. Although he was a bottle calf and more on the gentle side, doesn’t stop him from doing what he was bred to do as he bucks with the best of them and is sure to catch your eye.

940 Thunder Kat

Sired by K24 Dr. Proctor and out of a Ace of hearts daughter. A favorite to haul for several years now spends his days as our main herd sire as that’s where he has shined! Watch for Future Thunder Kat Calves!
